I was thinking about dreams.  How they can feel so real yet be so very strange.  The way people, events and situations they are completely unrelated to each other in real life are mashed together in our dreams.  I rarely remember my dreams when I wake up but occasionally, I will remember a small tidbit.  A person, a place, an animal, or something not normally seen in real life.  Have you ever had Deja vu?  You know when you’re in a situation a place or you see something and it seems like it has happened before.  I sometimes think this is related to dreams.  Some situation seems like you are repeating it because you dreamt about it at some point in the past, either recent or a long time ago.  You don’t remember the dream, but your subconscious mind is relating the even to an earlier dream.

Like I said, I generally do not remember my dreams, but I did have one about 15 years ago that was so vivid and real that when I woke up, I remembered every detail.  I did not pick up on any significance to the fact that I actually remembered it.  Here was the dream: it was in the evening, dark and cold.  I was driving on the interstate at the normal highway speed.  There were no lights on that stretch of road and hard to see even with the car lights on.  Then suddenly out of nowhere sits a car, stopped dead in the middle of the road, directly in front of me.   The car had no lights and nearly impossible to see until I was practically on top of it.  I had to swerve hard to the left to avoid missing it.  Scared the crap out of me.

Now, here is the weird part.  The evening after my dream, I was returning home on the highway, it was dark and cold.  There were no lights on that stretch of road and was hard to see even with car lights.  Then out of nowhere, a car was stopped dead in the middle of the road with no lights.  I did not see it until I was nearly on top of and I had to swerve hard to the left to avoid missing it.  And it was a narrow miss.

Now I don’t know about you, but I find this to be far more than a coincidence.  The actual event was to specific, almost identical to the dream.

I think my dream actually was prescient.  For those of you who have not heard of this word, it means having knowledge of events before they happen, like precognition.  I think my dream was warning me about a potentially dangerous event that was going to happen soon.  And the fact that I actually remembered this dream so vividly makes me believe that humans have abilities that we do not even know we have or at least do not understand.  My belief is that humans may eventually evolve into beings with extraordinary talents.
