Welcome - My First Blog - Scotch

This will be a work in progress as I develop new topics and reflections. Today's topic: Scotch. There are many views on Scotch and Whiskey in general. Some people go overboard and dive into every aspect of this fine beverage. Others take pleasure in having the largest bottle selection possible and relish in buying and selling high end bottles that are in demand or may appreciate in value. I however, take a more casual approach to whiskey. I enjoy trying new brands, ages, and styles to find what I like and what does not interest me. I buy scotch and whiskey to enjoy and share with friends. Coming home after a long day at work, after a good workout, a hike or finishing a home project, it can be a pleasure to relax with a nice dram of my favorite Scotch and enjoy the wonderous flavors. That is the pleasure in having a good drink. So, go ahead and find a food pairing for a particular brand or style like a smoky whiskey paired with a good grilled steak. Or, like my brother, who likes to pair a good cigar with a whiskey that enhances the flavor. Whatever your level of interest, it is yours. Relish in it and enjoy it to the fullest.
